Local news anchor Jackie Simien recently stopped by Martin Elementary to read her children's book "Bonjour, Tee Belle". Simien, a longtime supporter and volunteer in BISD, penned the book as a tribute to her mother and her Cajun heritage. The Martin Elementary students were excited to be able to meet the local celebrity and hear the story told by the author. After the reading she was able to answer questions and even sign a few books for the students.
