Recently, eight twirlers from Blanchette Elementary traveled to Orlando Florida to compete in TwirlMania, an international twirling and dance competition, competing in solo and group categories.
The twirlers ranged from second through fifth grades and were accompanied by their sponsor Ms. Sandra Thomas and choreographer Bethany Thomas as well as several parents. The girls did very well and placed 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place in their four group numbers.
In addition to the fine arts component, these students were given the opportunity to meet students from around the world.
“We are very proud to have represented BISD at this competition and we are extremely proud at the achievements of these young ladies” said twirling sponsor Sandra Thomas. “This was a once in a lifetime experience for our twirlers and they met and exceeded all of our expectations!”
