Throughout the month of February,  Beaumont Independent School District campuses will be celebrating Black History Month with performances, activities, and in-classroom enrichment.  The focus of Black History Month is to highlight and increase awareness of African American contributions to the areas of science, fine-arts, technology, and many other areas.

By highlighting the contributions made by African Americans, these activities will teach students that contributions to society can be made by anyone of any race, color, or creed.
