This weekend will bring smiles to a lot of faces as BISD Athletics Department hosts the Special Olympics Swim Meet for the third year in a row. Athletes from all over Southeast TX and the Greater Houston Area will pack the pool to compete in various events along with some of BISD's very own athletes.
"We are very proud to be hosting this event for the third year in a row. It is always a beautiful and inspirational experience for everyone involved" said Coach Sheena Walker, BISD swim coach, "We would love to have everyone come out and cheer for these athletes!"
The event will be this Saturday, August 17th at the Thomas Center Natatorium with opening ceremonies kicking off at 9:45am and the meet beginning at 10:00am. This is also a great opportunity for students to earn service hours as well. If you would like to volunteer, please arrive by 9:00am.
