Students from Central, Ozen, West Brook, and Paul Brown came together on February 14th for the annual Student Appreciation Valentine Affair hosted by Dr. Timothy Chargois, Superintendent of Schools. During this time students were given the opportunity to share with Dr. Chargois and his administrative team their praises, questions, and concerns regarding BISD.
“I am so happy that I am able to host this annual celebration of our students and provide them with a platform to share their thoughts and feelings on BISD” said Chargois. “This event allows me and my administrative team the opportunity to stay engaged with the students and hear what they have to say.”
Each student had an opportunity to share their feelings and they addressed topics on all aspects of district life such as school lunches, transportation, and extra-curricular activities; no topic was off limits.
“By giving these students the opportunity to share with us, it helps us as administrators to understand what affects our students on a day to day basis” Chargois said.
As a sign of appreciation for their hard work and dedication, in conjunction with BISD’s generous community partner ExxonMobil, the students were surprised with a trip to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo to see Usher in concert.
This event is one of several events throughout the year where students are invited to share with the superintendent and his staff. The next event will be in April when the “Supe Group” will meet to wrap up the year with a discussion.
