Certified Public Accountant, Rosemarie Arena DeLano joins Beaumont ISD as its new Internal Auditor. DeLano attended Beaumont ISD schools from kindergarten through 12th grade. She graduated from Forest Park High School (predecessor to Westbrook HS) in 1979. In 1982, she earned her B.B.A. in Accounting from Lamar University, graduating from college in three years with Magna Cum Laude honors. Upon graduation from Lamar, she moved to San Antonio, TX where she worked as an auditor and accounting manager.
“As President of the BISD Board of Managers, I am pleased to announce the hiring of Rosemarie DeLano as Director of Internal Audit,” said Dr. Jimmy Simmons. “Rosemarie, who reports directly to the Board, will be establishing an internal audit department for the district.”
Her professional experience in finance and auditing includes Northside ISD, one of the largest school districts in Texas, from 1993 to 2003; the last seven years at NISD she was the Director of Internal Audit. In 2003, Mrs. DeLano returned to Beaumont and was employed by BBVA Compass for 12 years before joining BISD in January, 2015. At BBVA Compass, she was an internal auditor and most recently Vice President and Trust Officer. She brings 32 years experience, 14 years as an auditor, 10 years as an accounting manager and 8 years as a trust officer. In addition to being a CPA, DeLano earned certifications as a Certified Financial Services Auditor and a Certified Wealth Strategist. Rosemarie is a member of the Rotary Club of Beaumont, Lamar University’s Planned Giving Council and an active volunteer at her church.
